Important road construction near Saber Fields

Scott County and the City of Shakopee are undertaking significant intersection improvements at the junction of County Highway (CH) 78 (130th St) and CH 79 (Townline Ave). Improvements include a roundabout, curb and gutter, resurfacing, seal coating, new signage, storm sewer upgrades, pedestrian crossing enhancements, and utility work. This project will result in a new roundabout, along with other upgrades to enhance safety and traffic flow in the long term.

Starting April 2025: Initial utility work
    Utility companies will be relocating lines along CH 78 and CH 79.
    This work may cause temporary lane shifts and flagging operations.
    Expect periodic traffic delays during April and May.

Starting June 2025: Major roundabout construction & FULL CLOSURE
    The main roundabout construction is anticipated to start in early June.
    Full intersection closure is expected to begin on or after June 7 and will last approximately eight weeks.

Detour routes

    CH 78 Traffic: Detour via CH 15, CH 16, and CH 17.
    CH 79 Traffic: Detour via CH 14, CH 15, and CH 16.
